Should be able to start blogging more
I haven't been able to blog because I got the laptop out of the divorce which had a shattered screen so it was almost impossible to use. I was able to get it fixed so now I have a functioning working like new laptop. I am so happy. The kids and I are doing really good. Patrick is almost done with second grade and is so excited to be done with school for a while. He has really done well this year, but I can't really say that I am surprised. He is a really smart kid and always has been. He wasn't able to do baseball this year with scouts, and possibility of visitation time with his father, he just wasn't able to. He loves cub scouts. There are only 2 in his troop but he loves it. We were able to get season passes to lagoon and we have been a couple times already. Jackson has really been trying to get used to the rides. The first time he was really apprehensive, and would go on just about whatever we went on but only because he didn't know what was going on. He was scared for a few of the rides but loosened up by the second time he knew he didn't want to go on almost anything so we had to gain his trust for rides again. Hopefully he will be excited to go on all the rides he can due to his height by the middle of the summer.
Being able to be home has been a money saver and been really beneficial and glad that everything has happened the way it has to let me be there for the boys. They were both sicker than normal this fall/winter. Patrick called home due to stress stomach aches and flu about 9 times this year. We are passed the sick season, and happy. I am glad I could run to the school at the drop of a hat to pick him up. I don't think I would have the same flexibility working. Jackson was able to fight off the flu in the beginning but ended up with it 3 times and there was nothing that could have been done. This strand wasn't the one covered in the flu shot. With this we did accomplish teaching Jack to get to the toilet to throw up and not just wherever he felt like it.
Jackson and I have been printing off worksheets and doing preschool things on line when we can. He has been learning fine motor skills and really loves using the dot paints and getting the dot inside circles and does really really well getting the dot painter on the dot on the paper. He is also doing really well counting and recognizing colors and the alphabet. He has matching shapes, colors, and letters down solid. He is going to be fully prepared for pre-school in another year or so.
The boys were able to see all of my family this last April and they had so much fun. We went bowling and movies and just had a really fun time. They have been able to see their dad's family but not near as often as they used to and the relationship has really taken a nose dive. It is really heart breaking seeing people making the choices they are and trying to help 2 innocent little boys understand what is going on.
