Jackson's Smile

Well as I am sure you could tell Jackson is missing a tooth. This was not something that happened naturally. Back in November we were at a ward dinner and Jack was running around and Patrick was bored and tired. It was getting ready to start and they were trying to get everyone's attention. I grabbed Jack as he was running passed and as I pulled him by the waist to my side to lift him on my lap, Patrick put his head down on my lap to lay down and they konked heads. Jack's tooth slammed right into Patrick's head. Both boys instantly burst into tears, and I took Jack out in the hall. I could instantly tell he was bleeding but it wasn't much so I thought maybe he bit lip or tongue. Well on further analysis I saw that it was coming from his tooth and not only were his gums bleeding, his tooth was fairly loose. I immediately contacted a nurse in our ward that was at the party who said it happens all the time, and it could fall out on its own from being dead, or it could firm back up and no damage other than possible graying of the tooth. I went home and tried calling dentists but of course at 7 on a Friday there was nothing that could be done. I found no after hours dentists. I called insta care and the er and was told that it was a dental issue and to wait for a dentist. So bright and early Monday morning I called a dentist who told me the same as the nurse did. Fast forward 5 months. The tooth had tightened up and not turned gray. I was elated! He was going to keep the tooth! Well, then as I thought we were safe, it happened. We were walking home from Patrick's cub scout meeting (like just got out of the doors of the church) and Jackson being the runner he is took off right out the doors. Well as he is still just 2, the top of his body and the bottom can be out of sync. His feet weren't going as fast as his chest and down he went. Now when Jackson falls, he doesn't go down on his knees, nope, he goes straight on his face only hitting that one tooth. It quickly popped out on the sidewalk. And while he looks like a hockey player in the making, he wasn't crying and the blood all over his face was due to him checking the mouth and wiping his face lol. He has really rebounded nicely. And I did take him to the dentist and they said from his xray they figured it would fall out because it wasn't attached to the bone any longer but wasn't dead. It was just a matter of time. Oh boy, I can tell I am in for it with this child. I better have good insurance for his life lol.
