I'm trying my hand at gardening

I decided a very short time ago that I would like to try my hand at gardening. I went to the store (well ok a few stores) with my friend Leslie and we got all the things I'd need to start my little garden. I prepared the place the garden would be by digging out all the weeds and mixing up all the soil getting it ready for planting, well ok so I tried. lol I got a rake and was able to rake out a bit of vine and other debris and then Leslie doing most the work got holes dug and all the food and plant steroids to get these puppies to really grow. I wanted to start out with berries so I got 2 raspberry plants, 1 blackberry, and 2 strawberry plants. If I succeed I will probably do more berries and veggies next year. I am working on clearing out the outer edge of the back yard property and it's proving to be a job, but Patrick and I are so far liking it. We ran into a 8" garden snake that slithered into the neighbors yard before Patrick could get his tuppaware container to catch it in......as if I am going to have any reptiles any time soon.....silly boy. Jackson did his part by staying out of the way lol he didn't really want to get dirty and had no desire to pull weeds (can't blame him there) I am excited to see the progress and the end result of this back yard project.
