Winter?
Well ok I guess according to the calendar it's winter, but to take a look outside to the bare grass, and 50+ degree weather you wouldn't know it. We have been able to spend more time outside though and not cooped up in the house so that is a perk. ComicCon FanX was a couple weeks ago and once again, I took both boys a little bit every day of the Con. We really loved the panels with Voice Actors. One was the voices behind Animaniacs. We have had all the episodes for about 2 years and the boys love the show. I always loved the and it's nice to see it continue with the boys. The next day, we went to another panel with the actors, where they read Harry Potter in different character voices. The boys LOVED it! On the last day, Patrick wanted to go to a panel where they discussed the science behind the movie Interstellar. My brother took him to the movie for his birthday and he fell in love with it. A lot of the science/physics behind it was well over his head, but he soaked up everything they said. Going to ComicCon has really been something we found brings us close together, and gives them opportunities I never knew were possible when I was a kid. I always figured celebrities all lived in California or New York and would never be close enough to see let alone talk to or shake hands with. We found them to be very aware of their fans, and treating them as such. The highlight of the Con had to be seeing Matt Smith oh about 30 feet away. Patrick was really excited as he is his favorite Doctor.
We haven't really been doing a lot, as we like to make our life routine and predictable, but are really looking forward to the summer. We don't have any trips planned, but the summer is our favorite time of year and always look forward to it. Patrick has been doing really well still in school. His teacher has nothing but massive amounts of praise about his love of learning and his personality. We went to a school sponsored math night and he is known among the teachers as tornado boy because when they were learning about the weather, they had to do a presentation about the section they were given. Patrick is very interested in tornadoes, and that was the topic he was given. They were asked to get in front of the class for the presentation, and Patrick was acting as if he was a weather reporter, reporting the weather from the outskirts of a tornado. We will be given copies of everything they did this year at the end of the year and am excited to see it, but I hear from a lot of people that it was absolutely hilarious. There isn't much different with Jack. He is just a really fun ball of endless energy to be around. I am still in awe of how he can have that much energy and run and be active all day long and not crash halfway through the day or slow down at all. It's definitely interesting trying to keep up with him. He is working more on writing and he has actually started reading! We are so excited! He is so proud of himself for being able to recognize words and know what they say. He also loves being able to type out his name. I love seeing his eyes being opened to new and exciting things for him. We have started a new book and think we will really enjoy it. Patrick got done reading James and the Giant Peach a couple weeks ago, and started A Wrinkle in Time, while Jack and I have started Lemony Snickets and can't wait for Patrick to start reading it. He is going to love it!
Short entry for today. More when things get going :)

Thanks for posting.I am glad the boys are staring to come over more. I know it means alot to my parents. anyways thanks for blogging...
ReplyDeleteThanks! Hopefully you'll be able to see them more often. Patrick is really excited for yellowstone. Not sure yet what Jack and I will do without him. Will be weird. Glad they are spending more time with your family. For a while Jack lost memory of who your family was, and it's good he associates them as family now. Life is crazy and I don't post a lot, but know there are a few people from when I was married that like to know what goes on from a distance so it's my way of letting them know what's going on without all the awkwardness
