Finally Fall
We have had an amazing summer, and have adjusted back into the school/work routine quite smoothly. Patrick's got a teacher that is new to the school, and has a different approach to teaching than the other teachers he's had. She is a very hands on learning teacher and Patrick is thriving in her style! Things are coming quite easy to him that last year and the year before weren't as easy. We are so happy! This Tuesday October 7 they are taking a field trip to watch an IMAX movie, go to the Nature Preserve, then lunch in the park. He actually wanted me to go along this year. Last year his mom going was embarrassing. I got off work, and am quite excited to be able to spend the time with him and his class. When I went on their field trip to the Living Planet Aquarium we had a lot of fun.
Its also a new year of Joy School. Jackson is doing great! They are so excited to be back in preschool and it's really fun teaching them.
Patrick is getting his bear this month and Patrick is really excited! He has worked really hard for it.
We don't have a whole lot planned for the fall other than Lagoon's Frightmares where they have already been through one haunted house that they loved, and love walking up and talking with the characters that are dressed up in scary costumes. We are also going to Black Island Farms with friends, and J&J nursery for pumpkins. The boys haven't made a decision on what they want to be for Halloween but I am sure it'll be fun!
The boys have been spending a lot more time with their dad's family and they are loving all the play time. They always come home with stories of all the fun games they play or things they did that were really fun. I am so glad they have taken the opportunity to have the boys a part of their family functions again. The boys need to know their family on both sides. It's been a little different for Jackson to comprehend. His grandma asked if he knew who she was and he said yah Patrick's grandma. He is now more comprehending they are HIS family and HIS grandparents too and that he has lots of aunts uncles and cousins. Even though he really doesn't understand how it all works and fits together. He really loves them and has really funny stories to tell. Patrick seems to have just slid back into the friendships he had when he spent a lot of time with them. Picking up where he left off. People have grown up and circumstances have changed, but the friendships are the same and he is loved and welcomed in as before.
