Summer's Over
We have had an amazing summer. Spent a lot of time at lagoon. Patrick has tried a few more rides and Jackson is still doing everything he is tall enough for. Jackson is really getting good at swimming, also learning how important knowing how to do the basic swimming without a life jacket tho it's rare he doesn't have it on, and he always wants mom right there to help him :)
We went to a few splash pads with friends and they really enjoyed the time playing with different friends. We went to Causey, camping a couple times with family and friends, did a few movies, and really just spent a lot of time together. We had the amazing opportunity to spend an entire week in Park City with friends at a really nice condo. It was a couple blocks from Main Street, and just so happened that the Sunday we were there, the Tour Of Utah made its stop through and they had a lot of booths and fun things for kids to do. Patrick basically ran up a rock wall. He loved it! Guess he'll have to go with his Uncle Matt when he's a few years older :) We also went up to Park City Mountain Resort and went down the Alpine Slide. We went to our only visit to a farmer's market this year. While we were in Park City, Patrick's grandparents good friends had their 50th wedding party and took them down to Wheeler Farms to celebrate. The kids really loved spending time with their family, and with them being involved with more things, they are having more opportunity to know and love playing with cousins their age, and making life long friends.
On the Saturday the 9th, I was able to take the boys to another ReAL game. They loved being there. Well maybe Patrick more than Jack, but that is his age. Patrick's friend kept asking him questions and trying to talk to him and he would look at him and say "Can't you see I am watching this game?!? That's what I came here for not to talk so please be quiet!" love it! It just so happened that that game was the game Nick Rimando beat the all time MLS shutout record. Not sure they quite understand the gravity of things, but it was incredible!
Patrick starts 4th grade in a couple days and while he isn't horribly excited (he will after he meets the new teacher) it's going to be a great year! Jack is going to start his second year of Joy School and can't wait! Jack starts soccer tonight! We are so excited. Well ok I am a little nervous because I got roped into being his coach, but if I can remember they are just little and is their first or second year playing things will be good. Jack was so happy when he saw that his team color is hot pink.
Patrick got his pinewood derby car last night! He is getting together with another scout and his dad to get it made. The race of the cars is in Sept and will let people know what the date and time are so they can attend.
Thanks to all of our friends and family for making our lives so great, and helping us have all these amazing opportunities. Even tho the things we do don't always cost money, the memories are amazing!
