2014 will be EPIC
We decided we are going to have an epic year. We don't have to have a lot of money to do it and we don't have to go a ton of places to constitute an epic year to most, but our attitude says we will have an epic year and we are FIRM believers in attitude. Last year we had a pretty amazing year that could go down in the books as epic. Go ahead and read through the small number of entries to see the year we had last year :)
This year to kick off our epic year we have been to a party for New Year's, and we have actually used our passes for the Aquatic Center. Today we are going with friends to Midway to the Ice Castles. We are really looking forward to it. The Ice Castles, from my very limited knowledge, are huge ice formations you can walk through and when you go at night they have lights frozen to the sculptures and it's all illuminated with different colors. The boys are out of school tomorrow for teacher prep day so we won't have to worry about getting home too late :)
We are also planning for more epicness for this year. We are definitely going to Moab. We are looking into different lodging options but even if we just camp and are stinky and red from the sand it will be well worth it. I will be taking them on a couple kid friendly hikes to see the gorgeous rock formations and walk around Moab. I don't feel confident enough to take the boys down the river at all so we will be saving that for when they are a little older.
I apparently went camping in the Uinta's when I was small, but have no memory of it, so I am planning with a friend, to take our families up camping. We tend to do a lot with her and her family, but when you get along so well, and your kids are the same age, it makes sense right??? That will be really fun. The boys have been camping before and really like it, but I haven't taken them for too long.
We are planning another trip to my parents for the summer. That trip is still in the planning stages. Other than that, which seems like a lot, and not very much at the same time, but I am sure more things will come up :)
Attitude is everything. You can make your situation miserable and negative, or you can look for the good in a crappy situation and make the best of it because face it, when there isn't a whole lot you can do at the moment to change your situation, why be bitter and complain about everything??? Who does it benefit? Not to say that you have to always put on a front, but you can choose your attitude. Anyway. If you would like to get together with us let me know. We can set up a play date. Our schedule isn't booked up yet :)

It comes down to two things. Get busy living or get busy dying.
