Our crazy awesome day at Lagoon

So we have been going to Lagoon all summer with our season passes my uncle so brilliantly got us to have fun with. The boys were sick earlier in the week but finally got over their crap Tuesday and were ok to go today with our friend Kristen. She has 2 kids right around the same age as my boys and we have a LOT of fun going together. This summer I told Patrick he should go on a couple rides that seem a bit scary, to give them a try he may like it. It's his first year ever going to lagoon. We went once before when I was pregnant with Jack but he was too short to ride anything. Well he tried the Spider and scared him so he decided never to ride it again. I said that's fine, but now you know you don't like it. I offered to go on the "white rollercoaster" with him and he said NO WAY! Well one day in I believe June or July he went with me, he never screamed out loud but said it was too scary and didn't want to ever go on it again. I said ok, that's fine but now you know what to expect from something that looks like that. He loved going on Bombora (one step up from Puff) and got him to go on the Bat with me because that's just one more step up from Bombora because you aren't in a car so to speak. He loved it. I never brought up "white roller coaster" again. Then out of the blue today he said right before we were leaving, he said I want to go on the "white roller coaster!" I said are you sure? It freaked you out last time. He said yah yah yah and jumping around. Kristen and I were leaving at 5 but she said she would watch Jack with her little girl while Me, Patrick, her husband and son all went on the roller coaster. We had walked into the middle of the car and then her husband said, its not much more of a wait, lets go to the back......I've never ridden the back so I said sure lets go!! Well the man in front of us looked really familiar and thought from the quick profile view that it was Scott's brother Cody. I figured if it is, I will say Patrick's name and for sure he'd turn around to see Patrick 3" behind him. Not like Patrick is a common name. Nope. Then he got on the car and I said Patrick! That's Cody!! He yelled hi to Cody and I wish I could have gotten a pic of his facial expression when things clicked as to who was saying Hi to him. He looked as if he had seen a ghost. He was so excited and said WOAH! You are here!??? I will get off and meet you right at the end of the ride ok??? I said ok look for Jack. He's with my friend. He said Jacks here!?!?!?! I said of course he is! And told him the description of the lady who was with Jack to look for. Then when we got off the ride Patrick ran up to hug him. It was SO awesome to see someone from Scott's family unexpected like that. In the conversation I don't think it fully sunk into him he was seeing Patrick and Jack. He was so excited and happy to see them. And to think we almost didn't get that opportunity. I don't for a minute think it was coincidence that we dind't leave when we were planning, or that Patrick wanted to ride a ride he said he would never ride again, and don't think he'll ride any time too soon again, or that Cody was right in front of us. I had felt bad that the boys were sick when they were invited to spend time with the family, but they were contageous and I knew there would be young children around and chancing others getting sick, and my boys being miserable from sickness would not be good for anyone.
